Cleft Lip and Palate 唇腭裂
Being born with a cleft lip and palate is more than a cosmetic birth defect; for many children it can be life-threatening. Because a fully closed mouth is needed for suction, a baby with cleft lip or palate has difficulty bottle feeding and will starve without special care. Providing the one-on-one time required to feed such a baby is an enormous challenge.

A Home to Heal 康复之家
Orphaned children receive care before and after surgery at our Healing Home, where trained caregivers nurture each baby in an environment that resembles a home rather than a hospital. After a complete recovery, children return to the the orphanage, healthy and ready for adoption.

We assist the local Chinese Children's Welfare Institute by providing pre- and post- surgical care to abandoned babies suffering from surgically correctable deformities. Shanghai Healing Home provides a family-focused, home-like environment that meets not only the babies' physical needs but also their emotional and social needs.

Who We Are 关于我们
Our healing home is a friendly, safe place where the most vulnerable, cleft-affected babies are cared for by trained nannies. These women devote their time to the careful feeding of the children, ensuring that they gain the weight needed for their surgeries. We provide care during and after the surgery until each baby is fully recovered.

The Journey 宝宝之旅
Typically, a newborn around 1 month old will arrive at the Home. Between 8-10 months, this precious child is ready to go for lip-correction surgery, and at 14 months, the baby is ready for palate-correction surgery. After 2 short years, our babies are ready for adoption or our foster program.
通常情况下, 新生不到1个月大的宝宝会带到我们唇腭裂之家。8到10个月左右, 我们会安排宝宝做唇部矫正手术; 宝宝大概到14个月大的时候, 做腭裂纠正手术。短短2年以后, 我们的宝宝会进入寄养或领养计划。
